“Vertical Wilderness? exhibition
The “Vertical Wilderness? exhibition covers an area of about 1,000 m² in a single hall. Along an ascending pathway, you will learn about the entire spectrum of life found in Berchtesgaden’s National Park: Your journey begins on the bottom of Lake Königssee and leads through water, forest, Alpine pastures and rocky terrain right up to the peaks of the Berchtesgaden Alps. In the rocky terrain habitat, visitors can experience the highlight of the exhibition – a roughly 12-minute nature film which is projected on the inside of the mountain display area on an 11 x 15 meter projector screen. No two visits are alike – impressions of the spaces change, as do the lighting and sound effects with the passing of the seasons, ensuring that every tour through the exhibition is absolutely unique.
